Your Circumstance is a Spiritual Lesson
March 18th, 2007
“As a progressive and evolving being, man is where he is that he may learn that he may grow; and as he learns the spiritual lesson which any circumstance contains for him, it passes away and gives place to other circumstances.” - "As A man Thinketh", by James Allen.

Today reminded me of an incredible video I saw recently about persistence.
It’s a short clip from the movie “Facing the Giants” and the message will be with you a long time.
I also knew there was value (something to learn about myself) in every experience, as I beleive we all reach that same awareness. To be honest though, it has taken me a bit of time, to be able to look at a problem I’m having as a necessary spiritual lesson. Sometimes you just want to disregard "the inner voice" and maybe simply enjoy the earthly pleasures of life...... for example, I used to often like going to the local pub to throw back a few brewski's. We can all relate right?
But as I look back at my life, it is easy to see that the times when my wisdom and understanding grew to new levels; those times when I approached becoming the person I long to be; it was sometimes the times that followed negative circumstances. The blessing of it is: Those circumstances forced me to take a good, evaluative look at myself from within In fact, there is a saying that the greatest growth you’re going to have is going to come from the negative circumstance you have, that sometimes seems too overwhelming!
All my life I have had a knack for, and have even been complimented on my ability to turn around a bad situation. As a golf-superintendant, I developed an expertise of taking a golf cource in "run down shape" and turning it around! I learned to be able to do that within 60 - 90 days, given the right conditions.
After eighteen years of being in the golf-maintenance industry, I realized I was worse for wear. I now had to turn myself around. "I" was in rundown shape! I was unhappy as a golf super, and wanted to try something new. I was tired of working 80 hours a week, getting fatigued, feeling like work and life was "drill". I spent the last two months of my career in the hospital recovering from fatigue and de-hydration! It was time for a significant change! I wanted to earn a six-digit income work half those hours and have fun! I'd always wanted to try sales so I left the golf industry and went full time into "sales"............. this of course presented an entirely new set of challenges,or "obstacles" to me,which required some self directed education to overcome. I had already invested in some Learning cassettes and it was time to "buckle down" and apply myself!
Quote: " in , Byways of Blessedness James Allen is strong in his call for us to embrace our circumstances. “Let a person rejoice when he is confronted with obstacles, for it means that he has reached the end of some particular line of indifference or folly, and is now called upon to summon up all his energy and intelligence in order to extricate himself, and to find a better way; that the powers within him are crying out for greater freedom, for enlarged exercise and scope."
“No situation can be difficult of itself; it is the lack of insight into its intricacies, and the want of wisdom in dealing with it, which give rise to the difficulty. Immeasurable, therefore, is the gain of a difficulty transcended.”
Maybe that explains why it sometimes seems that I can’t shake a particular problem, or I have one that keeps rearing its ugly head. Instead of fighting it, I need to jump in and gain the insight and wisdom to handle it. Then it would be gone, and I would be ready for the next lesson — only stronger, both in spirit and in wisdom!...James Allen .....end of quote.
Emmet Fox, wrote, “It is the Law that any difficulties that can come to you at any time, no matter what they are, must be exactly what you need most at the moment, to enable you to take the next step forward by overcoming them. The only real misfortune, the only real tragedy, comes when we suffer without learning the lesson.” In my opinion and experience is that sometimes, you simply just need to clear self-limiting beleifs! There are mentors, like Joe Vitale, that can enable you to do that too!
The insights and teachings you can gain from Educational, Inspirational and Motivational CD's or cassettes can make all the difference in the world!
